Many shows have come and gone over the years but recently watching reruns of mash it dawned on me that this show is unique. Its humour is as sharp today as ever. Its messages are as pert. It's cast was fantastic.
Alan Alda was magnificent, I saw him on a rerun of Parkinson (talk show) the other day and he shines as a special person with a unique wit and charm. He's released an autobiography which is now on my "to read" list..

This is a fan club thread.. tell how Mash effected you, fav moments, people and welcome comparisms to life or other shows... Could this be the best TV Show ever??

i kind of agree re mash. and i gave that book to one of my esteemed chess opponents for xmas.

at work my email address comes up as Officer Dibble (Mr T).
you can imagine the amusement this causes.
sometimes i refuse to fly and people drug me at my desk.

The episode in which Hawkeye finds himself stuck in a Korean village and essntially performs a monologue for 30 minutes, leaping from absurdity to profunity, is always a joy.

First time i ever shed a tear from a TV show was the episode Colonel Henry Blake left and his plane was shot down.
The only thing that moved me to tears from TV was the reports of the poor Jamie Bolger kid in England murdered by two other children slightly older than him some years back.
