How did a thread about something which is spread on bread turn into this?

Here are five conclusions which I think can be drawn;

1. Some people don't like Vegemite or Marmite
2. Some people do like Vegemite or Marmite.
3. Some people prefer Vegemite to Marmite.
4. Some people prefer Marmite to Vegemite.
5. None of it is worth bitching about.
And yet, here we are.

Actually one is in a jar one is a stone, not the same thing! 😉 Now if you want to throw just the Marmite then it would be far softer than a stone!

A gentleman at my college union hustings was pelted with Marmite (amongst other things).
It was not a pretty sight.

I am happy to report that I have now tried both of them on hot buttered toast. The marmite tastes slightly sweeter and vegemite has a slight bitterness, but I liked them both.

I think it helps if you keep in mind that a little bit goes a very long way, and also be forewarned that they are not in the same category as peanut butter, or any form of jam or jelly. They are in a totally different catagory.

They are both very SALTY! They are going to taste that way.

Then we have a convert, so the thread has been worthwhile. Welcome back from the dark side.

AFAICT they're both dark. Even Speculoos is at best, less tgan middling dark. If you want to join the light side, spread your bread with pure salad cream. Quid non.

He said he likes both. (As opposed to neither.)
