I know I am not in the same game, but I must say that the perspective from Venice is quite different. It also seems quite a bit different that there is no forum where everyone can chit chat.
I think I have received email from every nation that borders me and several that border them wanting to ally. This will be good.... I am supposed to be a Naval power and I did not even have anything worth calling a fleet in the MMW game....should prove interesting.
It's 1322. The Sultan of the Mamlukes is calling himself Pharoah Yoannis now. The Sultan of Roum, presumably enraged by this betrayal of Islam, attacked viciously via a combined land and naval attack. The Egyptian Marines died to a man defending the city they'd just pacified, never having set foot off land. However Jerusalem has agreed to pay taxes to Pharoah this year; no citizens were harmed in the battle, and Roum failed to take the city, having lost an ever greater force than Pharoah due to Jerusalem's walls and the valor of the Egyptian Marines. It will probably fall next year though. The Mamluke fleet was wiped out this year but there is a replacement just coming out of port. The Turks did not seem to have built any new ships, however, which means that their naval superiority is very tenuous. Sicily dropped into Tunis. I had been developing a friendship with the Hafsids, so this makes me sad :'(. They reported strife with Morocco as well. Hungary's Royal and Byzantium is irritatingly enigmatic. I have no idea what he's planning on doing. Venice is one of my buds. How are things going in the rest of the world?

As far as I know France and Arles are already at war, as Saxony, Norway, France and England prepare for battle against the evil Northerners; Novgorod, Tetons and Denmark. There may be trouble a'brewing.

Because I don't have the power ot ability to go against France as he has very powerful allies, as well as the fact I'm already allied with France. But I wouldn't help France against Bosse.
