That resonates queerly with a book I'm reading, The Radetsky March (Joseph Roth), about the end of the Austro-Hungarian empire. All these people whose numbers are up and they don't even know it, just go on about their business as if extinction were only a word in the dictionary.

As far as I can tell, there are no city names. When you click on a province, it only tells you that a City (or Town) is present. I guess I assumed that the cities and towns have the same name as the province they're in.

Faster, smarter diplomats than yours enlightened him.
Well you're satisfied, Bill (isn't that the new Polish guy's name, too??); soo everything must be A-OK! Actually, I e-mailed this guy the day the last resultfile came in, but for some reason he never answered mine. But supposedly he had a 30 minute chat on Yahoo Messenger with KW! The BS is getting a little deep .......

It's a good idea though; I'll post something on the MD forum asking the players if they've ever heard of somebody joining a game and being IMMEDIATELY granted passage rights to go wandering around the unprotected heartland of another realm. What do you think the answer to that will be, Bill?

This is what I have been saying about this game since the beginning... it is called Diplomacy, not Panzerblitz. I don't care how much of a military genius you think you are, you will eventually be defeated not by a better military genius, but by a better diplomat (and his allies, which is kinda my point).

Makes it easier if you can negotiate with yourself though.

Gee, maybe because he heard from others that you are ... well ... the way you are. Thats all it would take for me.

As I said, please feel free to have the GMs investigate this until you are purple in the face. It will just further your frustration and disappointment that you are losing this war.

Edit: Since you are fond of quoting the rulebook - How about this from the FAQ:

"Q: One of the realms in my game does not seem to be replying to emails, what should I do?

A: Some people are not interested in diplomacy, and no one has to reply to email messages."

I find your accusations laughable in the extreme.

But, oh, I forgot, you didn't ask me.

I never said you, er he, had to respond to my e-mail; your reading skills aren't up to snuff. I still say that no one in their right mind would allow a new player to just walk into his unprotected capital; it doesn't make any sense. He could have cancelled the alliance right away and declared war next turn and he would have had most of your center provinces without a fight. Are you really that dumb?

So he's called Bill? Isn't that amazing?

Probably you'll hear nothing from the forum.

Oh, I get it now....

Something happens that you dont like and because the site says it has happened before, it MUST be happening now and to YOU!!!

This is getting more laughable by the post....

Let me enlighten you as the non-computer type person you are...

Hacking the file would require a knowledge of code and the use of encryption tools and hacking tools... Though I am a computer geek myself, I am a HARDWARE geek and dont know the least bit about code.

That totally aside - I am an honest person who takes honour very personally. It is inherent in the way I live my life.

Even THAT totally aside - THIS IS A GAME. Why would I even bother? I dont cheat at single player games, when the cheats are available to use freely!!!!

Really no1 - you are carrying this too far. Stop.

Edit: on a side note - Using your logical brain - Whether you believe anything I said above - I paid money for royal status - why would I do something that could be easily found out and not only get booted from the game but lose that money? Sorry - that is totally illogical.

Yes. Or rather, it's already called Constantinople. It started out as Byzantium, but it was renamed long before the time you are in now.

KW:

In case you didn't notice, check the Removed Players list for this site. We play a game here but some people don't play it honestly. The only thing I know about you is that you're a petty, vindictive jerk who already tried to get me tossed from this game. That's your idea of honor?

You've given no explanation for why a player would let a new player roam around his unprotected heartland. Until you come up with a plausible explanation (I can't think of one given the risk that the player could have easily turned on you and virtually destroyed you with one blow) I maintain it's highly suspicious. Only a bozo would think it isn't, given that the site says there has been problems of this sort before.

BB:

Two responses already; guess you're predictive powers ain't nothing special. The only explanation given was possible prior history in another game, but that's not the case here.
