I'm collecting to buy blankets for the widows and orphans of Italy and Bavaria 🙂 Send gold c/o James the Just, King of Aragon.
Why did you attack Champagne and risk awakening the sleeping French Bear? It hardly seems worth the risk.

But if he's truly maxed out his income on upkeep then the loss of 17 gold will hurt him plenty. Many French troops may just decide to go home.

Edit: Nope. I count his income as being 51 gold per turn and his upkeep as being 35 gold.

Historically, Uzbeg Khan was a Muslim. What's the state religion in the Horde in this world?

Question: If a fleet moves into a neigbouring sea and is involved in a sea battle, I know it uses up all its move points but can it still then unload? The rulebook is not specific about this.

Good question. We should list all rules corrections and clarifications we've so far discovered so that we can modify the rulebook for personal use. One such little "rule correction" would be a bug I read about which won't apply to our game anytime soon but is still good to know: apparently allies of the person who controls Byzantium have some sort of advantage in moving through Byzantium with naval units. This doesn't apply to the owner himself though. I forget the details, but I think the ally doesn't have to spend a movement point to enter Byzantium or something like that.

Do you know if France will definitely move to recapture? It didn't with Byzantium.

Maybe the Great Khan will have a conversion late in the game, but at the moment he's too fond of his drink to seriously consider becoming a Muslim.

France was a bot when Champagne was stolen away from him. Byzantium was not yet a bot when his provinces were liberated. My guess is that France will unleash Armageddon upon the fools from Aragon.

But they'll only take back what they lost. So Aragon could pull out this turn, meaning he won't lose any troops and will have gained 17 gold this turn.

No he wouldn't, but he's denied France 17 gold.

It's no wonder your kingdom is in such a state of decrepitude, you obviously have no idea how this game works. In order for Aragon to get the gold from Chamgagne, he'd have to annex it. It would cost him 17 gold to do so. The chances are that France will take it back before Aragon can collect on his investment.

If I was within trebuchet range of you, I'd declare war on you instantly.
