5 days short of perfect, but thanks for asking. How about yours?
I will also finally have my 240v outlet out there for my kiln and can step up to making heat treated armour reproductions rather than limiting myself to either mild steel or stainless steel.
Thanks for askin!

What's the SCA?
http://www.sca.org
brief synopsis - Started in Berkley, CA in 1966 as a sort of Summer gathering of 50 or so people. Has blossomed since them into an international society of medieval enthusiasts. Attitudes range from the casual medievalist to the staunch medieval nazi. Basically that means that you can put as much effort into you persona as you want, as long as there is at least a reasonable effort made. Some people go all out with hand sewn period fabric garments sewn based on period patterns. There are 'Kingdoms" all over the world - 18 total right now, I believe. most are in the US, there there are locations in Europe, Japan, Australia and Africa.
It started as a recreation of Medieval Europe but has grown to include all of the typical European medeival stuff to the Moors, Byzantines, Japanese, Chinese and Indian. Most recreate their person between the 600 and 1600 AD time frame, but a few step back into the Roman and Greek eras.
As stated by ATY, there is full contact armoured fighting that occurs. Some people use more period technics, such as those from I.33 and Talhoffer, but even with those influences, the SCA fighting has a style of its own. If anyone is interested, I will see if I can dig up some links to some fighting videos and pics.

(Do you wear armour to get into the mood when you're planning your orders?)
Originally posted by Bosse de NagePersonally, I have fought in numerous tournaments and Pas de Arms. I have fought in many small scale battles (10-100 people per side) and I have fought in three wars (about 750-2000 per side).

No, I dont wear armour when planning mmy orders.

Originally posted by Bosse de NageNo scripting. It is all full contact chaos. There are specific rules to combat, so that no one gets hurt (or at least it is rare.) Bruises are not considered getting hurt. It is a common practice to compare bruises after a war or tourney.

The big difference between SCA fighting and actual war is that you know you are not going to die. You may die in that battle, but you will come back again for another one.
I can dig up some video clips and link them here if you like.
