Kiss me, you big, sweet macho man!

You really suck at the goad.

You need new material. 😉

Your lips seem to be presently occupied on the Saxon's posterior.

You mean you expect the Doge to kiss much better than the Duke?

Oh, if only I could hope to steal a kiss from that gameboard warrior, the Mighty Doge.

Alas......

Why does the Danny Kaye movie "The Court Jester" come to mind here?

Yes! The Duchess dove at the Duke just when the Duke dove at the Doge. Now the Duke ducked, the Doge dodged, and the Duchess didn't. So the Duke got the Duchess, the Duchess got the Douge, and the Doge got the Duke!

Now that what I thought was a private conversation has been offered up for public discussion, let me begin by saying that I have already sent Saxony the text of the message to which the Doge is referring.

I have apologized to Duke Radolph personally, and I do so here publically. He may not accept it, and I can say I would not blame him if he did not, bu ...[text shortened]... of public scrutiny and that you will not be penalized for my mistake.

King Kodran of Norway
Thank you King Kodran.

It was not necessary but appreciated. You have shown yourself far more honourable than others who merely seek to sow dissent.

But, I don't like his creative misuse of quotes from your mails or the use of them whatsoever. But now we know the nature of the beast we're dealing with.

The quotes accurately conveyed what the King of Norway was saying as you well know. Tough titty what you like; I've explained my position as regards unsolicited messages from the allies of my enemies. The fact remains that you bailed on Norway and he lost a province and a lot of troops. If he wants to now believe in your "honor" it's just more proof that P.T. Barnum was right.

EDIT: If you continue to insist that I have "misused" the quotes, I will quote the diplomatic messages in their entirety.

Ask Norway if you may do so.

Screw Norway; I will if I feel it necessary. Do you continue to insist that I "misused" the quotes?

LOL!

Do what you think you must, you big, bad man.

I copied, pasted and sent the "quotes" directly to Saxony earlier.

Gawd, you make me stemmy with all that testosterone you exude.

Edit: just so it doesn't confuse you any further, Doge, Saxony has the exchange you refer to in its entirety.

So there! 😛

He's apologised and said he was wrong. What does this prove?

Retract your accusation of a "creative misuse" of the quotes.

OK.

King of Norway:

Doge of Venice,

I should have heeded your advice many seasons ago, but my loyalty blinded me to Radolph's deceipt [sic] far longer than a wise commander would have allowed.

AND

For the record, Doge, I did not turn on Saxony last turn; I again had trusted him to hold to his part of the bargain in assailing Denmark. It is my natural disposition to take a man at his word. My sense of honor has taken its toll on my forces but so be it. If my realm is destroyed by those who are outright liars, I shall still sleep undisturbed.

What "outright liars" do you think he was referring to??
