No problem. 🙂 It's a strange day, I have already been mistaken for the King of Norway. And that on Norway's National Day! 😉

Quite similar, Osaka is only 1 hour away by train. Osaka ben is a lot more widely spoken. You will find that youngsters nowdays arent really speaking in dialects like Kobe. Osaka-ben is more cool (all the comedians speak it on TV)

Anyhow, time for work.

My sister-in-law is from Kobe, and she gave me some examples of the dialect. Her mother can't speak anything else than her dialect, but I have met her only once about twenty years ago, and almost didn't talk with her.

How do you rec an announcement in Evil Dips game?

King!

----------------------------------------------------------

From the Republic of Venice:

The Bavarian fool sent an army of archers against the Army of
Venice; they were slaughtered as was another army of archers the
season before by our Sicilian allies in Tuscany. Who know what
blunders he will make this season? Yet, the other realms of
Europe treat him like a dunderheaded brother in law and allow him
to dominate Central Europe. The Spanish fools waste their troops
against peaceful France for little gain while they stand aside and let
German barbarians threaten the rich lands of Italy. All fear the
backstabbing, treacherous Mongols who sell out an ally a season.

We are probably doomed as we have refused to betray allies or
kowtow to tyrants, but our honor remains unsullied. We have
defeated army after army and fleet after fleet in open battle; our feats
of arms are unmatched by any realm save perhaps the Horde and
they have conducted themselves with a perfidy unmatched in
history. We go to our end knowing we have fought the good fight
and may be overwhelmed, but as free men we were never, and will
never, be beaten.

An Aragonese army joins the ranks of those destroyed by the men of Italy. I would include a Bavarian army as well, but the cowardly Duke arranged his retreat level so that only his "allies" died to the man. You will win Savoy next turn, but you have been bleed by better men.

You need to grow up; I was mentioning a historical fact to correct your error and you go off on ANOTHER hissy fit. You're not much for any constructive criticism, are you?

This gets moderated now??

Crap. I see no point in building them; Medium Galleys are only slightly more expensive, have better combat and hit points and can carry marines. I can't think of a reason to build to LD's if MG's are available in the same recruitment center.

Three Light Dromonds would cost the same as two Medium Galleys. The combined combat value for the Light Dromonds would be 126 (42*3) as opposed to the 112 for the Medium Galleys (56*2). The Light Dromonds flotilla would have 3 hit points, the Medium Galleys would have 4. Speeds would be equal, as would the upkeep costs.

The Medium Galleys could carry two marines. Let's say that they carry crossbowmen (which cost 4 gold each). The flotilla of Medium Galleys would now have a combat value of 208 (112+(48*2)) and have 6 hit points. For the same money as the two crossbowmen, the Light Dromond flotilla could add two more Dromonds. Their combat value would now be 210 and have 5 hit points. The Light Dromond flotilla upkeep would be less by a total of .4 gold but would pose no threat at all to land territories, whereas the Medium Galley flotilla could conceivably drop troops off and acquire provinces.

The major advantage to the Light Dromond force is that they would have 5 chances to hit as opposed to 4 for the Medium Galley flotilla. Depending on the needs of the realm, Light Dromonds could fit the bill.

EDIT: Consider Dromonds really fast archers that can walk (only) on water.
