In my experience here good posters don’t always make good moderators. For example @badwater was a good contributor but a disaster as a mod imo. The site went through a period of lots of mods when the forums were super active and most of the new ones couldn’t be independent of their personal views. Debates was a nightmare back then and the General forum wasn’t much better.
@silverstriker (no longer here) was an excellent mod and I think these days @Flash is the best of all time; still here but rarely if ever posts.
PS happy to note that despite my somewhat frisky history, I was only forum banned twice in 17 years. A one weeker and two weeker ( reduced from a month on appeal) 😂

I too found @Sliverstriker to be an excellent Moderator and very fair to all, even me. 🙂 He would always give an explanation if a post were removed, and he never once banned me from the Forums. I can't say that about some other Moderators who's names will go unmentioned. Bias is a horrible thing when you happen to be Moderator.
