Yes it does. Or actually China funds USA.

Why the laughter?
It's hilarious...

The "all mighty USA" being funded by China or any other country for that matter.

Haha..... It's almost as funny as if USA was being funded by Africa.... now that would be funny!

USA ->> down, down, down the tubes.

You're dreaming.

If you look at their public education system on a whole, it's pathetic.

Sure there are some rich fancy school which only certain ppl can afford but what about the rest of the ppl? What kind of education do they get.

Dream on dude. Dream on.

I went to UC Berkeley myself. It's a public school.

I don't think there are public schools which are "fancy rich school[s] which only certain ppl can afford" unless you think the fees for the UC system are too high or something. Those schools are generally private.

I'm talking about rich fancy schools as in the ones ppl from around the world go to to study there.

If you compare public school education for the whole country compared to other countries, ya USA doesn't have the best education system.

Fundamentals of Engineering Exam. I've seen the comparision in 06 for a course where we were discussing it. You should have seen the mark difference between canadian students and american taking that same exam. Basically, we couldn't stop laughing. It wasn't even close....

Yes I agree. Its quite odd sounding.

But actually USA hasnt been mighty for decades anymore. USA has been losing its edge for so long and nowadays the consequences of reckless monetary and fiscal policies are finally visible. USA would collapse instantly if it wasnt China, Japan etc funding it.

Wow are you the most ignorant person in Europe or what? You obviously no nothing about macro economics. Eorope and the rest of the world were eager to loan us the money for mortgages, or buy the mortgages for future income. If European and Asian countries made a bad investment, who's fault is that? The rest of the world still wants a piece of the American dream, but that piece isn't free.

America losing it's edge? Uhhh... still the worlds only remaining super power.

All countries are subject to dips in the market and radical fluctuation of there monetery system. This happened as a result of the Bretton Woods Accord, when the world went of the dollar standard, and the dollar went from the gold/silver standard to being a fiat currency. Money is only worth what the WTO says its worth

Are we talking about how good the public schools are to Americans or to foreigners too?

You guys can afford to have your economy take a bit of a hit if you can afford all that.
true. it always amazes me when finnish businessmen or politicians scream bloody recession every few years. it seems to me that they do it just to rationalize cutbacks and layoffs, when the real reasons are to bounce up stocks or facilitate tax cutbacks for the rich.

the finnish welfare system was built right after the WW2, when the agricultural finnish society was flat out broke, destroyed by years of warfare, and huge war compensation to soviet union further pressed the economy. and now suddenly they claim that we need to cut back on some of it, because u.s. (or whatever the reason they randomly pick) is facing a recession. it's just ridiculous.
