As discussed in the "Medieval Diplomacy Strategy" thread, the people at AgeGames have another war/grand strategy game called "Napoleonic Empires" which can be played on the web. Basically it's the same game system and map (with slightly different province divisions) but moving the scene 500 years later to the Napoleonic era with troops and ships of that era and various tweaks to reflect the differing capabilities of military units then.
I've offered to get the game going and contact the GameMaster if and when we can get the 12 people necessary to play. If you are already playing MD, you'll have to upgrade your status to Royalty by paying the optional $2 per week for MD in order to play a second game, though you need not ever do so in NE if you choose not to. People not in MD would not have to pay anything, though the Royalty status does gain certain perks in the game (as discussed in the MD thread).
So, I'll take the first 12 people on a "first come, first served" basis provided I don't dislike you toooooooooooooooo much. Please don't be like the jerks who signed up for MD but then bailed at the last minute because there were delays beyond the control of the person organizing the game here at RHP (Rwingett in that case); that led to a mad scramble to fill up places and mass confusion. I'll be VERY displeased if you do, so please, for your own safety, only sign up if you are 100% sure you can play. Remember, as Tony Soprano says, "You can never leave the family".ðŸ˜
EDIT: I forgot; the link to the game is http://lordsofconquest.com/napoleon/

Rwingett was in the discussion, but didn't commit. I'd give these people first dibs, but please post in this thread to confirm.
Originally posted by no1marauderI wasn't in the other game, but I'd be interested in playing this new one. (Don't know how good I'd be at it, but I'm a quick learner!)

Count me in please. I have the board game Diplomacy (WW1 version) and love it though never get to play cos convincing 6 friends to commit to something as long term as that has proven very difficult. I've downloaded yoke and signed up on site. What else do I need to do? How many moves er week are there? How are we allocated territories etc?
Originally posted by malingaThere is one turn per week with your orders usually due on Tuesday 8 PM EDT. These are usually processed 24 hours later and the turn results file e-mailed to you. The countries are allocated randomly by the GameMaster. The rules are far more involved than Diplomacy was; I suggest you review the rulebook, particulary the Advice section, which was in the download of the Diploware. As the game system is very similiar to Medieval Diplomacy, you could also review the first few pages of the "Medieval Diplomacy Strategy" thread.

I'm still in, but since I'm currently playing Galactic Warlords in addition to MD, I wonder if they'll allow me a third game. I assume that if I come up with the "gold," which I will, they can be persuaded.
two games is a maximum. So I guess you're out.

I didn't know another game was going to be raised here so I thought I'd gain some experience elsewhere.
Those same rules do stipulate that if in a losing postion, another game may be undertaken so maybe I'll be eligible soon for NE in any event.
(bump) To keep this on page 1.
Confirmed in the game are:
no1Marauder
Rwingett
NicolaiS
Halitose
Malinga
Expressed interest in the other thread but haven't confirmed here (please do) are:

We have potentially 9 already and need only three more. It's possible I could get something to the GM by Monday. So if any more want in, please sign up.
Originally posted by no1marauderYou should send in just 11 names. Then we'd get one non-RHP player. We could all gang up on him and beat the snot out of him.
