The alternative approach is to apply for a credit card, tell lies on it, tell them you earn £30K plus, you normally get 15% of your wages as your limit which would be roughly £4.5K which should be more than enough to get to see the love of your life.
The chances of the credit card people doing a search on you is limited, there are over 1000 available and give you an answer within days. Just make sure they dont ask you for wage slips, I cant remember sending any off??
