Stratford was mentioned but they showed this huge tunnelling machine and
showed pictures of a collapsed building in the 90's, leading me to believe that it was the underground.

Maybe they're planning a mass developement there. Or maybe they just got a sub from the big wallet in the sky on the grounds of them having the olympics in that area. Either way, work doesn't start until 2010, so ... um... so. Run out of words dude,.

Well if there is plenty of 'cheap' land in the area that could be redeveloped
then it may well boom for years to come. The Salford quays area hasn't looked back.

Edit: Like you say with the delay though, I think it is inherent in the building industry. A bit ridiculous to say the least.
