Originally posted by wormwoodOn this subject, unprompted, Russell's six year old came up to him the other day and said out of the blue "Dad, why does everything go up to ten? My favourite number is eleven!"
what's the point of having another timebank in addition to timebank? sounds like 'spinal tap' thinking to me.
"Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it mber and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven. "
Well, you can imagine the chuckles.

I think you should contact Site Feedback. It isn't fair for a clan match to be held up more than a year. Sounds like the guy isn't active anymore... or if he is... the game should be over by now.

I have messaged him telling him he can claim the game twice but he chooses not to.
Originally posted by ChrisI understand that, but it seems that the outcome of this vote will only really affect non-subs with the six game limit.
We usually limit votes to subscribers only. Only to prevent fake accounts casting multiple votes. Unlikely as it sounds, this does tickle the fancy of some people, and it just renders the whole exercise pointless. 🙂
"How about if there were just two options (for non-tourney and non-clan games)
1) Claim Win
2) Annul game (make it unrated and declare a draw) "
-Chris"
I don't understand why any sub would ever want to annul a game (in a friendly rated game) if there was a chance that the game could go on. If the sub doesn't want to artificially inflate his rating, just let the game lie.
So is this vote specifically for non-subs to free up one of their spaces, or do you really receive a lot of feedback from subs about this? I just don't really understand the issue here.

Please take a look at [vid]12[/vid]
We are trying to gauge the opinion for adding the option to annul, or delete, games that have timed out rather than giving "claim win" as the only option to complete the game.
This doesn't apply to games with two or fewer moves, as these will always only have the option to be deleted.
People want the wins. People want the ratings points.
Look at most peoples finished games and you will find they have timeout wins. Even players rated over 2000 take the win.
As the old saying goes If it ain't broken don't fix it
Originally posted by bolshevikOn page 1 of this thread, Chris has already confirmed that the delete option would only be available to non-tournament / non-clan matches.
I would have liked to have seen a distinction made between clan or tournament games, and individual challenges.
In a clan or tournament game, deleting the game if one player vanishes should not be an option. All games should count and the same rule should apply to everyone.
In individual challenges I see no reason why it shouldn't be up to the player ...[text shortened]... one would want to force a draw, but if people want that option as well then let them have it.)
Originally posted by RagnorakIf you're playing a friend and want the game to be rated, you could use the maximum TO and timebank settings available. Currently that's 21 days TO and 28 days timebank. If there was also a 30 day vacation allowance, then your friend would have do be away for nearly 3 months before being timed out in that situation.
Then there would have to be a no-Timecontrol game, as I often play my friends and having them rated adds interest. We would never time each other out though.

I don't know why there aren't options for longer time controls. If it's a friendly challenge game, why can't the players choose whatever timebank that they want? A greater variety of TOs and timebanks already exist in tournaments, so why aren't they available to everyone?
