I will have 3 for sure.
Anybody else intending on entering, but hasn't yet?
Also, how about "Silhouettes" as a round?
D
Silhouettes seems a good idea. Maybe we should try to expand the existing topic list a bit? What were the other suggestions? I remember "black and white in colour", but I think there were more suggestions made already. Trees could be a nice subject too, I think.

"Looking at flickr tags, Depth of Field, architecture, flowers, food, landscape, macro, trees could be good rounds. As could something very abstract, like rounds for blue, red and yellow?
I'm not sure if I heard this idea in one of these threads, but it could be fun to try to take pictures in full colour to look like black and white pics, ie: and almost black and white round (no computer adjustments allowed? ). "
and pinkthunder suggested "Painting Like photos".
I'm not sure if there were other suggestions.

What about a typical-expression/pun/cliche/sarcasm round (That could be fun, but maybe hard to do. Maybe that should/could be a side-round? [Like "Biting the Bullet" or something else more clever.]) How about an Abstract round? Or a guess-what-this-is/part-of-the-whole sort of round...it could be like "Name That Tune", but with photos. Have we had a Kids round yet? How about the "Ugliest Person" round? Wasn't it Da Vinci that liked painting people; the uglier the better? Thoughts?
Originally posted by pinkthunderI suggested an Abstract round in the beginning of the comp. I'd still like to see that, although we could also split it up into more narrow categories (e.g. colours, as Regneark suggested). A Kids round had been planned, but it was merged with the People round due to a lack of interest and because we found out that kids are people, too. 😉 I think this "guess-what-it-is" stuff might be better outside the competition; I imagine it would be difficult to rate the pictures. More People categories might be fun, but I can almost guarantee that I won't participate, and it might be difficult to get enough entries if it's too narrow.

Originally posted by pinkthunderI've thought better of it. Although that subject can be interesting (take a look at some of the pros' pics of "wrinkly" subjects), that wouldn't work for several reasons. The point of suggesting that was to get interesting and atypical photos, not to be rude.

Originally posted by PeachyI don't know if it's worth it (as I haven't seen the pictures), but it's up to you. There's no limit on the number of pics for the non-voting section (if people start sending hundreds of pics, I might change my mind 😉). However, the limits for the file and picture size are the same as in the voting section.
Whats the limit on the number of pics for the non-voting section? is it worth having the originals + the best modifications, filerts etc along side the 3 you wanna post up for voting..?
Just a thought..
What are filerts?

I tell you what, am sending them now.. i know the first fits the topic 100% but the other 2 are.. just.. random..
Could you have a look and see if they all agree with your good taste? 😉

Thanks Ragnarok for the reminder. I think they are all good ideas, but maybe we could alternate concrete topics as trees or flowers with topics that leave far more room for photographer's interpration, such the idea of using a colour as a topic.
Of course, we probably already have enough topics to continue this competition for a few more years 🙂
