I thought this was supposed to be about womens rights, and respect for women. How are you respecting women when all you've been doing here is fluffing yourself up, and focusing only on you?

you = womens rights... is that your formula? Seriously?

Come on, admit it... you're not really an idiot, you've just been pretending to be one. Right?

please tell me I'm right

So, at whom are you directing your "tough guy wanna-be schlub" trash talk then, in our discussion about the women's movement and respect for women?
Why do you care? To whom have you been directing your trash talk? What makes you think you don't deserve to be treated the way you treat others? And what makes you think you can keep up interest here in talking about nothing but YOU? What makes ewe so special?

If that's what you think, go for it.

If you can cite an example of any "trash talk" by me in this discussion, just go ahead. You are determined to deflect from the topic in hand. Who in the women's movement is your trash talk about "tough guy wanna-be schlub social engineer" directed at? How does this "trash talk" demonstrate your respect for women and the advancement of their rights?

This is just trash talk that does not further the discussion.

Answer the question: what is so special about you that we should all stop what we're doing and only talk to you on the subject of... you.

You do this at other threads too. People will be talking about something and out of the blue you'll comment on someone who didn't agree with everything you said at some other thread.

You've got a serious problem. I'm not joking. Try to see yourself as others see you... take a look at yourself through their eyes.

You're deflecting again.

Your trash talk about "tough guy wanna-be schlub social engineer" is still hanging in the air. How does it relate to your respect for women's rights? You yourself entered it into the discussion and you have been deflecting ever since.

No, this thread. Not any other thread. Your comment about someone who disagrees with you about women's rights was on this thread.it was;

You poor sap... you're one of those brainwashed (henpecked) males who finds it easier to just to go along with whatever PC social convention happens to be dominant. In fact, you've probably been stuck in this mindset for so long now that you aren't even aware of when (or if) this happened to you.

This is what I have been discussing with you. It is on this thread and always has been.

Oh come on, you bragged about how you were able to keep the action going here for 2 1/2 hours one evening... you've already shown us what you think is important.

And if my "tough guy wanna-be schlub social engineer" comment upset you, then so what? I wasn't uspet by your comical "politically backwards" barb. Grow a pair, and stop being such a prima donna.

It did not upset me. But I think your attempt at "trash talk" offers yet another glimpse of your true attitude towards the changing status of women. As did the furtiveness you exhibited after you'd said it.

This is a forum for discussion. The "action" you speak of is "discussion". And that "2.5 hour" part of the discussion was about people being rude to each other and about FreakyKBH and ChessPraxis alluding to their own willingness and ability to use violence.

FreakyKBH: "Stop playing to the gallery and actually carry the debate or discussion forward."

FMF: "As far as I can see ~ lemon lime's take on feminism and women's rights aside ~ "the ball where it lies" is people boasting online about their ability or willingness to be violent as and when disputes arise about what is said in online debates and discussion. This is the "ball" I have been playing. I think I am actually carrying this discussion forward. Indeed, the discussion has been quite lively here for the last two and a half hours."

Hardly "bragging". Simply me rejecting FreakyKBH's characterization of the ongoing discussion.

So ignore FreakyKBH, stop playing to the gallery and actually carry the debate or discussion forward. How does complaining about every little slight and insult you have had to endure carry the debate or discussion forward?

The only thing you've accomplished by constantly complaining about someones willingness and ability to use violence is to show how deathly afraid of this violence you really are. It makes you sound like a frightened little boy. I'm not a betting man, but I will wager this is not the image of yourself you intended to project here.

Unless it is the image you intended to project, in which case I would lose the wager. Like I said, I'm not a betting man... because I often lose these kind of bets.

But I haven't "complained about every little slight and insult". I have simply taken a look at your attempted insults in order to discern what they tell us about your attitude towards women and your attitude towards men who disagree with you about women. You many not agree with what I say, but I think I have done my part to carry the discussion forward.

The image ~ or opinion ~ I was trying to project, and i am happy with how i did it, was that it is ludicrous and pointless for men to "boast" about violence in a forum like this. If you think that advocating this point of view makes me sound like "a frightened little boy" then presumably you are rather closer to them and their 'internet tough guy' mindset than you are to my view on these matters.

Sigh FMF is a victim of the shifting sands of social convention and what is deemed to be politically correct, constantly in a state of flux, he picks those elements which appeals to him personally and rejects those which don't upon the great ethical buffet table. Its a room full or mirrors.
