i am a member of another website (shock horror!), and personally i find some of the censorship on it just plain silly. i mean-the word suck is apparently rude. no longer can i scuk at guitar-woo! 😀

and i had a picture on my profile...http://zoom.cafepress.com/9/1290529_zoom.jpg apparently that contains adult content.

political correctness taken to new levels? 😛

Let me guess... an American site? I can imagine that for family of soldiers who 'died in action' this picture can be very offensive.

I am not sure funny is what to call the senseless death of innocent people in war?

Bwahahahahahaha! I'm a child of the video games era! I KILL PEOPLE!!!!!!!

No, seriously, war has always been a format for humour (hehe). That picture could have been part of WW2 propaganda, or Nam. Just like that "How About A Warm Cup Of Shut The F*** UP" pic.

Not quite the same, but I was playing a game on Uchess against a friend of mine, and he was telling me about his cousins flat, saying it was really swanky, and that was edited!

i agree with you sarah.
when one sees enough senseless deaths in media, i guess it is easy to become senseless too.
i know i've been senseless about war in the past and forgotten that for many people the memories are a reality.

in friendship,
prad

Soldiers are the perpetuators of wars, not the innocent victims.

Soldiers are hired killers aren't they?
Dancers at wedding parties aren't.
Subtle difference.

And there's nothing wrong with having a sick sense of humour!

You're dead wrong; politicians are the perpetrators of wars and most soldiers are kids barely out of their teens told by others that their doing something good and necessary for their country. I would consider them victims of war, too. I suggest you check out Michael Moore's "Farenheit 9/11" particulary the parts where it shows Army recruiters concentrating on the poorest neighborhoods to get their cannon fodder while the people who started the war make huge profits in military hardware, no-bid reconstruction contracts, etc.

I don't think the picture was offensive; I think it was accurately showing the reality of this, and most, wars.
