You should have given him a lesson by betting the 200 pounds. Sorry I can not find how to make the sign of pound on my keyboard. 🙂

It would be nice if there is the prize of the tournaments on this site. It will happen someday.

There are some tournaments with prizes, but they are privately sponsored, arrakis has sponsored about 4 ladies tournaments so far

And in SF. there was a group of about six players, with boards set up on tables on the footpath (sidewalk). I lost a game (the 'no bet, get the sucker in' game), then declined to play for money. When i got up to leave they said there was a $5 charge for playing at their tables, which I refused to pay. It was starting to look ugly. I walked away and one of them followed me, started begging for money. Again I refused. He gave me the finger and stalked off. Gee, America really is just like it looks on TV.

They don't seem to have perfected their strategy very well, don't they realize that they should let their 'mark' win the bet free game?

The best bet with hustlers is to only ever allow them one game, unless you lose then keep playing double or quits until you break even.
Coincidentally that fool-proof strategy also works well at the Roulette table. try it.
