I can see it now. Russia and the United States in a missile stand-off crisis, and meetings and attempts at peace are going nowhere. Kasparov offers Bush a game of chess to settle it with nobody getting hurt. Bush, in a his stupidity, accepts.

Who would win?

Would Kasparov destroy him?

Or would Bush turn 'rainman' or the idiot from 'shine' and somehow win using his "strategery"??

As a US citizen, I would start building my bomb shelter.

Whereas Gordon Brown would use spin to try and convince the people that the rook can move diagonally, under certain circumstances, and tell all the world that the King belonged to Britain in the first place, and we will be stepping in (with the aid of the army, which he'll forget to mention) to give the board back to the people

Why would Kasparov challenge Bush? Is he the president of Russia?
Surely such a battle would have to be fought on equal terms.

So either Putin plays Bush, or both Presidents get to nominate a champion to play each other.

Bush would win by changing the rules in the middle of the game.

Bush would beat Kasparov fair and square. Even if he had to take it all the way to the Supreme Court. http://tinyurl.com/lw2oo
