Nice dodge.
As I was walking up the stairs
I met a Ghost that wasnt there
he wasnt there again today
the grand old duke had gone out to play
and when he was up he was up
and when he was down
he was down
and when he was only half way up
he sold his soul for a pound.

@Kevin,
@Ghost, wants to make sure he always stands out. He doesn't know yet what many think of him. πŸ˜‰ Personally I just think he loves being the center of attention.

I think it's fair to say that some might think the same of me because of my natural linguistic talents, but I don't *try* to be the center of attention -- maybe that just happens naturally at times, or is more a matter of perception than intent.

It probably could be said that I am generally attention-avoidant despite being such a clever humorist and writing so well.

@Kevin,
Don't be concerned about that part, Ghost has you beat by a country mile when it comes to trying to be popular and the center of attention. πŸ˜‰

I do give him a little bit of a pass just because he lives in London, in that psychic miasma of competition and pyramid-climbing. πŸ˜‰

And of course some might remember my somewhat erratic involvement as a member of The Ghost Chamber, and that he often let me back in.

On my side, it seems his mood has darkened in recent times -- not necessarily anything to do with me -- and maybe he has become (even) more controlling just because he is a conscientious, observant, and sensitive man witnessing a world spinning unexpectedly and wrongly out of control, which I hope you and I could agree would be understandable.

And yes, E.A. Poe was what I read as a child, in case anyone is wondering ....
I read some of Poe but more of Dunninger when I was a kid, and a little later a lot of Bradbury -- but only the stories and not the novels.

Perhaps to you he is, not everyone would agree with that statement. Although it will give you brownie points for saying that!!! πŸ˜‰

I know Chuck 2 you, want to be nice to everyone which shows you stand on a higher ground than most on this Site. Usually everyone takes sides. I don't think either one of us 'Ghost' or 'Myself' are nice all the time, or to everyone for that matter.

Bucking the rules yet again, here's one with three RHP members in it:

Ring around the Rookie
Pockets full of Pondy
Mashburn, Mashburn
We all fall down

Standing out and loving being centre of attention aren't bad attributes.

You seem to aspire to them.

I think less of you now, Paul and/or Ghost.

Isn't it against the site rules to run more than one avatar at a time?

Very-Rusty is one of the very few who ever treated me like a friend, even despite our never having met.

I don't know what to make of some of you. I did not grow up in a sarcastic and false-talking environment where people express their appreciation and affection with vilification and contumely.

You could do a little sleuthing.

Look at when we are online.
Im guessing GoaD is British and in Britain.
I'm in NZ.

What openings do we play?
What are our ratings?
Compare our forum styles.

And Orangutan? Are we some kind of triumvirate?
