I noticed when it popped up on netflix the other day and added it to my list, but have not started watching it yet. It looked like it might be interesting so I hope to start watching in the near future!

What's its premise?
I might be interested. Does it have anything to do with chess?

@WOLFE63

Without spoiling the story, it's about a 9 year old girl orphaned and taken to an orphanage. She gets sent down to the basement where the old janitor is playing himself at chess.
Turns out she is a gifted, natural genius at the game.
Set in the early 60's.

Is this based on the book?

Edit: Turns out that it is.

Trivia: This was tried once before, in 2007, talks were underway to create a film adaptation starring Ellen Page with Heath Ledger directing. After Heath's untimely death in early 2008, the project was eventually canceled.

The Queen's Gambit was also the name of the yacht belonging to Robert Queen, whose son was Oliver Queen, AKA the Green Arrow.

Now you're next step would be learning how to play it. 🙂

Your next step would be learning not to assume.

Fun fact (read rabbit hole) Stephen Amell who plays Green Arrow on the CW series here in the States is the co-founder of an amazing little Washington State winery named Nocking Point Wines. The wines are inexpensive (relatively) and well worth the time.

Then Challenge me to Clan Challenge, I am sure my Clan Leader wouldn't have a problem with it and we will see who has to work on their game! 😉

That's a shame.
I'm an admirer of Ellen Page's work.

I'd still enjoy watching "Juno".

Thanks. I think I'll give it a shake when time permits. Hopefully, after the election.

Great show.

It basically tells women and girls that with massive drugs and alcohol you can still be the best chess player in the world. 🙄

After the show, women and girls will use google to see if a woman has ever been the best player......Nope.

Still a good show 🤔 if you like fairy tales.

Don't tell suzianne I said all of this or she'll kick me in the neck 😲
