People like to feel part of something. Part of a gang. They like to find differences between their gang and the next gang. Sometime this desire to be different means persecution of the other gang. Race is a visible difference between gangs. So people persecute each other on the basis of race. It has been the way of tribal man for eons, and always will be - despite the efforts of the educated and worthy to bring the gangs together.
