Random Acts of Kindness

Driving alone late one evening from New England to California, several decades ago, a total stranger two cars in front of mine paid my $6-7.00 New York Thruway Toll at the interchange with the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Lake Erie. Tried unsuccessfully to catch up to see if the driver was someone I recognized or, if not, to at least smile and wave my thanks. Interesting that this random act of kindness occured long before the movie Kevin Spacey played the lead male role in... "Pay it Forward".

Hope at least several general forum posters will take the time to share a few of their similar experiences. Thanks.

Hi, Andy. Thanks for pitching in and doing your part to move me along in a westerly direction that evening now so long ago. Assume your Crowley GB-Away Software enhanced HandyDandy GPS Monitoring System must have enabled you to lock in on my ugly/personna non grata countenance in your rear view mirrow. Should I begin saving my paltry allowance to repay the seven bucks? Also, please help me understand why the op to this innocuous and innocent thread has, within the lapse of only a few hours, already garnered six (6) Thumbs Down clicks. Merci.

If it's such a great thread and topic why not participate? What do you care what a handful of forum users think of the thread? Why do you feel the need to protect GB from a small handful of users who think negatively of the topic?

Who knows why they don't like it, but I highly doubt it's because they don't like random acts of kindness. My guesses would be:

Strategic act of baiting
Premeditated spamming
Same old same old GB platitude
Who is this guy, the Energizer Bunny of forum posting

Or perhaps something you or I didn't even guess at.

The question remains, if the topic is so good why don't you participate rather than shake the branch with the bees nest?

It appears the general forum is only meant for those who think a like.

God forbid you say something that does not sit well with the immature 6 or so.

I ask you, Why would this 6 unkown immature people give a thumbs down to a thread titled "Random Acts of Kindness"?

Do you think this is NOT: Strategic baiting!!

The reason this forum is so dead.............????

I pointed out some of my speculation on why some users might not like it. Why not make it a better thread by participating? If more users just participated in the topic and didn't worry about a few users who thumbed it down wouldn't it then become a good thread and the small handful of 'thumb downers' would know they were RONG and move on?

Make the thread good... you're only feeding the people who don't like it.

So get on topic, or every thread GB starts will be off topic right away because some users don't like it. You're doing as much damage if not more than anyone that thumbs it down.

You actually should practice what you preach!

I haven't seen you give a postive contribution yet.

All you do is belittle GB, because you think that is the popular thing to do....

Wait....N/M...It is in the group you hang with!!!

You have to be up there among the top hypocrites on the Site Phlabs!!!

If I thought it was a good topic, I'd contribute. Why would I contribute to a crap thread?

YOU are the one that thinks it good... or perhaps you know it stinks also and are just here for the drama?

I find it hard to believe that you see "Random Acts of Kindness", as a crap thread!!!

You don't contribute in any of his threads.

All you and a few others do is go in and say hi to each other and do your best to screw the thread up.

If you LIVE & let LIVE this forum would be a lot more active than it NOW IS!!!

If you don't like a thread, why go into it just to criticize?

Just because you can, isn't a real good reason. These forums could be fun and lively instead of DEAD.....
