Yes, and he's wrong by quite a bit. Hundreds is a far shorter period than is true--thousands may be more accurate (although most folks couldn't read the book until a few hundred years ago; they were deluded by what priests said was in it). In other words, the point is arguable.

That's not true. It has managed to brainwash millions of people for thousands of years. And while it's true that some people were not able to read thousands of years ago, there were always those who could read and interpret to them their understanding of 'what God said'.
