I don't know why they didn't just keep the rec count and implement the rec limit that we have now. It seems pointless to take away the rec count and then introduce the rec restriction.

But that's to much thinking on my part.

I don't know why they introduced the wreck limit when they had already taken away the wreck count. For me, the wreck system was always about helping people to find interesting posts. You don't need a personal wreck count for that, but the wreck limit has resulted in really good posts only getting the same small amount of wrecks as some only mildly funny or interesting posts.

I always thought of it as a good way to silently acknowlege a quality post, without saying "Rec'd!".
