Do you actually believe these idiotic statments that you make?

I think you's would be lost if the rec system weren't there, there would be no way to show appreciation of a comment in anonymity.

Yes. You were not around when the list of recommended posts was available. I was, and I actually found it useful.

Funny thing is, if we did... wouldn't we all have about 2 zillion by now with 19 recs or so under each post?

You would if you could get a true consensus on what your clan members thought was cool.

You need to continue the beatings until morale over there improves.

You could always post "Well said" to show your appreciation, after all the majority of people who 'rec' post "Rec'ed" when they just have.

Not with contraversial issues, or arguments. I agree that the rec system gets misused at times, but it's part of the forum, and i think it would be missed if it were not there. . . i forsee many "man i wish i could rec" posts if it went.

Bingo.

And anonymity is what gives people the courage to be stupid.

Not the majority.

The idea of recs is so that people don't have to pollute the forums with unnecessary "recced" posts. The only people who do post "recced" along with giving a rec are those who need people to know that they've done "a good deed", or who want people to know that the reccer has just scratched the reccee's back.

I see it like publicising a donation you made to charity. Crude, self-absorbed and completely unnecessary.
