Not when I use them.

I see them as criticism of the post. I think this is what they were meant for.

If you object to the person, tell them in a reply.

If you have a problem with the post and the person, down-thumb the post and leave a reply.

I believe you've saw me tell the person directly in the forum I didn't like their post, or them for that matter. I am not shy when it comes to that kind of thing. 🙂
