Certainly the problem over there has not been cured. If that were the case, the simple act of incarcerating him would have cured it. How many zealots are in line to take his place? I can't help but believe that we've done nothing but disrupt their country and we've solved nothing. The death toll on both sides continues to rise at an alarming rate.
The barbaric government he designed is now executing him. What goes around comes around.
And what ever happened to the effort to arrest those responsible for the Twin Towers castrophe? That shiny silver bobble bush chased (and vowed he would not allow failure in seeking) seems to have evolved into his personal vendetta in an entirely different country.
I know the rebuttal is about to begin. Don't waste your time. This is my last post and I will not read or respond to any of those left by our community. And I believe RHP has a fine community. I just wanted to post and present my opinion. You don't have to suscribe to my opinions. We are fortunate to have a bright and caring community.
My thanks to you all.

I knew that would come.
but since I didn't vote for him for either term and have no real control to get him out.
I am talking about the punishment at hand for Saddam. (BTW he had many years in power as well). What punishment would you think is fair?

Originally posted by Frank BurnsNo, it doesn't solve the problem. And no amount of death will change what's going on over there. But the only problem I have with it is he got the easy way out, and now he'll be a martyr. Death was too sparing.

Obviously Sadam murdered many people, so his death does not bother me in the least.
The fact still remains that we have no business being in that country. It is a diversion from the fact that Bush could not bring to justice the parties involved in the 911 attack, that is all it is. The invasion was based on false information, knowingly or not, it was incorrect and it is a piss poor excuse to invade another country, overthrow their government and throw the citizens into complete caos.
We have no business being in Iraq!
Originally posted by mlpriorI agree with you that we have no business being in Iraq. But I'm not convinced that it was Saddam who murdered (innocent) people. You have to realize that it was the American government who gave Saddam Hussein the chemicals he used to kill hundreds of solders - solders that the US wanted put down!

Yes, the US government gave him the chemicals and asked him to control the uprising. Years later they try to make it out like he is some kind of mass murderer.
