I wonder if they'll have replays of it.

That would be cool, wouldn't it?
I wouldn't imagine a hanging is too exciting....they just hang there and suffocate.

They should have done a beheading, that's something that you don't see every day.

It's over. According to CNN Saddam was executed an hour ago.

See? The US needed him dead ASAP.

My best guess though is that George W. Bush will be a hunted man for the rest of his life.... and some day, someone somewhere is going to get him.

They did tape it. It's unsure whether or not they're going to release the video footage.
Where'd you hear that?

I'm sure he will hide somewhere in a cave and avoid capture.

Error Kissed, you continue to scale new heights of illogic and paranoid fantasy. It's amazing and amusing.

They don't suffocate when they are hanged. If done correctly, it breaks the neck and causes instant death.

Unlikely we'll ever see it - they have the film of the Nazi hangings after the Nuremburg trials and they were never released.

Occasionally their head will pop off. I've seen that happen with a hanging in Kuwait.

This is one subject I always express my opinion on but never argue about.

Capital punishment is wrong wrong wrong!

Why is it so important to the American government to hurry up and kill him? I think that's a better avenue of exploring.
I do believe it is the Iraqi government who was rushing his execution along. The US was merely holding him, and basically the trial and the subsequent execution was all the Iraqis' show.

I agree with you that we have no business being in Iraq. But I'm not convinced that it was Saddam who murdered (innocent) people. You have to realize that it was the American government who gave Saddam Hussein the chemicals he used to kill hundreds of solders - solders that the US wanted put down!

Yes, the US government gave him the chemicals and asked h ...[text shortened]... ontrol the uprising. Years later they try to make it out like he is some kind of mass murderer.
You're kidding, right? Are you referring to the genocide he inflicted on the Kurds? If you are, I have to ask you if you're kidding, or just kidding yourself. How many women and children died? Saddam is guilty of far more than the one event he was tried and convicted for, and everyone in the region knows it.

Under Iraqi law I believe it must be carried out within 30 days of the appeal.
