Recently someone left this very here forum to get plastered on Vodka - a very commendable action in my opinion. I advised on using Smirnoff Vodka of course.

They call it Lillet Blanc now.

It's a dry apéritif wine made from the same tree quinine comes from. It used to be quite bitter, but they reduced the bitterness (along with changing the name) in 1985.

I prefer a splash of sake instead of vermouth. Makes for a much drier martini. Add two sake-marinated olives if you can find 'em at the store.
