This appears to be a UK link with questions and answers about the UK, Great Britain, Britain, etc. I think they are saying something a little different than what I've seen in this thread so far.
example:
Is Great Britain the same as Britain?
Sometimes people use the shorten name Britain instead of Great Britain, to mean the same thing, but really ...[text shortened]... and and Wales.

But you stated that Britain includes Northern Ireland, which it does NOT, then you insulted someone for saying otherwise.
Indeed, your quote says that Britain is not favoured as an alternative to UK, but you claimed earlier that Britain contains NI? What gives?
"The United Kingdom is often referred to by the short-form name of Britain. Great Britain refers only to England, Scotland and Wales"

it isn't part of 'great birtain' but it is part of 'britain'.
any more lessons you would like about your own country?
btw #7 is complete crap, football culture is rather tame when compared to some other countries, notably argentina and italy... but you'd have to get out of your local pub to find that one out. while i've mentioned pubs, 45% female is a ...[text shortened]... est of the time, forget about it. if you want 45%+ female attendance, go to a nightclub.

mmm, its interesting, no doubt when the Normans (essentially Vikings originally) arrived the Anglo Saxons headed north (there are incredible similarities apparently between ancient Anglo-Saxon and lowland Scots which you and I understand), but then again the Angles and the Saxons were essentially Germanic. Its real difficult to state who the real Br ...[text shortened]... n through the Isles. Its just real hard to say. Then of course before that we had the Romans.

So,
Britain = Great Britain = (England + Wales + Scotland).
United Kingdom = United Kingdom of Great Britain = United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland = (Great Britain + Northern Ireland + miscellaneous smaller islands in the vicinity).
Is that about right, or did I miss a turn somewhere?
Wales + England = Britain
Welsh people are the original British people
Great Britain = Wales, England and Scotland
Correct about the UK
