Stees was privileged to meet some RHP players in person on more than one occasion some years ago, and I was happy to meet Kewpie and her husband in Gothenburg when they were touring Europe.

That is very nice, so you were able to get first impressions of those people, not actually know them. When people meet they always show their best side, well you do have the few exceptions like myself of course! 😉

Interestingly I just pulled up all the players from Nigeria, 21 pages of names x 25. thats around 500 people. NONE are subscribers. This is a poor country $40 US is a lot of money there and I bet that can feed a family of 4 for about a month. So I say allow the poor to participate, without looking down on them in any way. They should feel welcome.

I noted a few players from Mali and Haiti, too -- desperately poor countries where 40 bucks would feed a family for a month. I do not in the least begrudge subsidizing the site with my fee, when there are people who genuinely cannot afford the subscription. The next Capablanca could come from literally anywhere in the world. So, yes, be welcome here, one and all.
