Hating a neighbour for raping his daughter and making her pregnant twice.

Hating a man who threw acid in his ex-wife's face and threatening to do it again..

Presumably Hermann Hesse wouldn't want to admit to hating them in case his devotees saw it as him admitting to having part of him that wants to impregnate his daughter, throw acid in a woman's face, poison his neighbours, and traffic teenage girls as sex workers. 🙂
