Lookin for some cheap stuff with minimal (if any) prep. I already know the levetation, coin vanish (using the Raven), and a pile of card tricks (including the card through the window). I still need a few before I start recording though (yah I'm making a video... friend of mine is practicing for some job or something... not quite sure). I'd prefer if I can do the trick alone, without a helper (aside from innocent audience members mind you). I know criss angel has a bunch that I like (but most that I know).

Any good ones? I don't care if you know how they're done (though it would be nice)... being as I know the vast majority and have a rather curious way of finding the rest out πŸ™‚.

Edit - I should mention that I'm not a total beginner, I've been doing this for a few years now.. a long standing hobby. I'm more interested in finding out what people like than anything.

Okay, here's the simplest form of levitation that you'll see Criss Angel do quite often. I should mention that I normally don't give away these tricks, it's just wrong to do that. Frankly though, I doubt you'll ever see criss angel OR me in real life so who cares πŸ˜›.

Here's the key to the trick: False Pants.

By wearing a pair of black pants with black socks and standing at least 10 feet away from the crowd, you are able to turn your back to the audience, step out of your pair of cleverly engineered pants, wave your arms around and breath like a moron for distracting purposes, and simply step up. Once up to a different ledge, slide your leg back in quickly and everyone else thinks your demonized while you try to keep yourself from laughing.

I hope that was a good enough explanation, it was rather abridged. I don't wanna give away too many more though πŸ˜›. I want to know what other people like to see, that way I can put those ones in my video.

There are no ledges in the middle of the street.

You can do a surprising amount of close-up card tricks just with a bit of misdirection and double or triple-lifting from the deck. I'd suggest you perfect your lifting techniques if you want some good, low-prep card tricks.

My favorite trick to perform involving a lift is this effect: Somebody picks a card from the deck. It is returned and the deck is shuffled. You then proceed to show them 8 cards one at a time, verifying that none of them are the selected card. The remainder of the deck is given to them or set aside. You then go through the 8 cards again, showing that the selected card is not in there. Then you ask them to hold the cards between the knuckles on the index and middle finger of their hand, with a closed fist. You strike the packet of cards and they all fall out, except one, which is of course the selected card. If you know how to lift properly, then this is very easy to perform.

which explains why he rarely levitates there. David blaine is the middle of the street freak.. though sadly that is all video editing. Criss angel is the one famous for levitating up an escalator... now you know how.

Simple sleight of hand. You lift two (or sometimes more) cards off the top of the deck in such a way that it looks as though you have only lifted one. Once you get good at this, a ton of tricks become possible. It's important to remember that, as corny as a trick may seem to you, your audience has no clue how it's done... they are still amazed if you can put on a good show.

His trick actually involves a secondary slieght I believe. A card force (lots of different ways.. just think one up yourself and it's probably good πŸ˜›). Maxwell forces a card on his audience member, gets it put back in the deck and shuffled, then (already knowing the card), he works his way through the deck to that card and pulls out that one plus 7 others. Using that sleight he avoids showing the spectators card and just shows one of the other 7 twice (this is dangerous but most people have a bad memory and are already distracted.).

Great trick... lots of other variants too.
