As for something I've done that I consider stupid, I think of a girlfriend I had at the age of nineteen. We were arguing over something and she asked me point blank if I loved her. I did. Very much so, in fact. But instead of telling her that yes, I did indeed love her but was very angry, I simply walked away. I let my pride get in the way and it cost me not only a girlfriend, but a good friend, as well. I learned a valuable lesson that I still carry with me. But it's amazing how often pride is the root of the stupid things we do.
