You want to be clean, funny and confident.
All things will follow from there. Don't worry about that yet. Just focus on the hygiene, being self assured and laughing at genuinly funny matters.

Maybe you can join a "unisex" club (drama or the school newspaper). That way you can talk to girls on the same terms and gain confidence.
EDIT for spelling
Originally posted by pinnedhorsei you want to get to know girls or just want to gain some confindance talking to them, join a theatre group or join some sort of club, activity that isn't male orientated e.g. football. NO i don't mean the netball or rounders team, i mean something where you can begin to feel comfortable around girls. this way you'll begin to understand what they're like lol and you'll begin realise how to speak to them without feeling insecure or embarresed.

you should definatly not be embarresed when you talk to a girl...i doubt if there's anything they hate more than when you can't get your words out, like shav said just act normal and be youself...the way i see it there's no point in acting like someone else if you want to score with a girl because if you get to know each other better she will eventually find out what you are really like. you don't want this to happen because somewhere along the line it will probably result in a slap. so act normal, try to get to know the girl, her likes, dislikes and then you will work out if you really like her, not just what she looks like..personality IS important, unless you just want a one night stand.
you're only thirteen, you shouldn't be worrying about this sort of stuff too much..obviously you are expected to think about girls to an extent but you shouldn't constantly be thinking about when you are going to get your first kiss. it will come naturally when the time is right. in the mean time just do what kids your age usually do; play football, look at the attractive older girls who walk around with their breasts hanging out and have a laugh.

and another thing...seeing your bit about not daring to say hi.
girls do exist, they are there and they're just human beings...so say hi and don't make it sound forced or pressurised just be casual, friendly and most importantly yourself. if you want to get with her, complement her, and don't let there be long silences, like shav said there is ALWAYS something to talk about...if you don't talk it's just an excuse for her to say she has to leave or talk to someone else.
