Blimey! I didn't expect that one. I know he was a rogue in his early days but since then, he's hardly led a rock star life style.

Here's to Syd. :'(

Yeah right, I'm surprised the lunatic has held on this long. I for one won't miss him for anything other than being the founder of a band which exceeded his initial ramblings and went on to be better without him, before turning sh;t and disbanding.

Poor bugger. Nick Kent's article on him in "The Dark Stuff" was heart-rending. I hope somebody somewhere is dropping acid in his honour.

"Good God, Syd. How'd you get like that?"

I agree.
Although I like one or two of Pink Floyd's eary songs, they tend to be ones which Barrett didn't write.
I don't get how some people seem to idolise him.
The best thing PF ever did is ditch him and get Gilmour.

However, I thought his drugs days were behind him and thought he'd pretty much settled into a boring, uneventful life.

EDIT: WHen did they turn shit?? 😲

Come on now. It was heavily publicised that he experimented with LSD. I've read his one of his biographies and a good deal of the book is dedicated to his downfall through prolonged and excessive substance abuse. I think the man was very talented and a great inspiration to many. Sadly, though, I think his story has become a fine example of the down side of drugs.
