1. Expansion of the Game Mod team to at least 6 individuals, the majority of whom should be strong, experienced players; and

2. Public notification when a user has been banned for engine use. This would also be tangible evidence that something is being done.
1. If five (or more) extra people were willing and able to put in the time to help David Tebb then this would be great. If those that originally expressed an interest, and are still around, would be willing to do the work then I suggest they PM Russ and David to that effect to find out exactly what is involved and required of them.

2. I can see why the "naming and shaming" of people would be proof that the Game Mods are prosecuting their efforts, however I have worked in cultures like this and I don't find the atmosphere at all positive. I think that the fact that the Game Mods and the Site Admins will know who has been banned is sufficient.

Additionally, I would like to see an official "Game Mod Alert" button put in place, with some help text explaining what is to be done with suspected engine use. This will stop the need to post cheat accusations in the forums.

thats not true ... please admit that is not true.

will $20 help you to admit it?

(my point: the "or" must be true)

Yep, would have been better posted in the Site Ideas and not General forum, ho-hum.

Obviously it was put in General to get the maximum response as this is the most used forum; the Forum Mods choose to leave it here even if you find the whole issue "ho-hum". As to your ideas, I think it should be the responsibility of the Site Admins to advertise there are vacancies in the Game Mods and more volunteers are needed, preferably by a post in Announcements. When Russ originally asked for volunteers 26 people put their names up; if he was proactive enough to do that again there'd be no shortage of volunteers. Why should people have to PM him without knowing if he is even considering adding any other Game Mods?

I see no compelling reason to keep cheaters' names secret, no one has yet given one, think it would have a deterrent effect and let the community know effective steps are being taken and other sites do it routinely. Since Dave says he doesn't agree, I suppose that's the end of it anyway.

I'd like to see Russ put a vote up as to how many would like to see the names of cheaters published and/or the progress of the Game Mod team... It would be interesting to see the results and the debate that would follow...

I have started a thread in Site Ideas if anyone else feels that a vote would be a good idea...

ANOTHER VOTE! What a greaaaaaaat idea, esp. since the other votes led to prompt and effective action!

Your skepticism is understandable...

But hey, it's a step in the right direction.
