I repeat for the sake of your wind-up brain: I read the post.
The next time I need a curt, uninformative reply from you, I'll be sure to rattle your cage, okay?
What is your oppinion on this dravlay, hat type of vote exactly do you want? And what do you actually think will become of it?
Originally posted by no1marauderWell thank you for the reply, no1. You may want to consider distributing midol to certain female subordinates of yours next time I ask you a direct question.
No, for the reasons I gave there. But I may re-evaluate after the next season of the one day and three day clan league end.

I am in no position to threaten anyone . I am not a mod or part of the management of this site . But if he's on the level it is a clear violation of TOS , and cheating is something taken very seriously by those who are in a position to do something about it . We had a youngster who admitted that his father had made some moves for him during games . This ...[text shortened]... n garnered him little mercy .
I would consider it more of a friendly warning than a threat .

Originally posted by NordlysFirst, we'll have to spend several weeks pleading with Russ to allow a vote. I'd say given Dave Tebb's opposition to the idea, we won't get one. But say we do get one: the prior votes were held open 4-6 weeks; so now we're more than two months with nothing being done. I have no doubt that a majority who vote will vote for public naming of cheats; for the reasons I gave? Probably not, but people love a show and what could be more dramatic than high rated players being named as cheats and kicked off?
You put forth the ideas and asked for discussion. You got a discussion, and you got a lot of people agreeing with you, or partly agreeing with you. Maybe something will come out of it without doing any more than that, but I think putting up ...[text shortened]... attempt to raise the chances that something will actually happen.
So a majority vote for public naming of caught users. Of course, the dfm's of the world will claim the vote is invalid unless the majority of active users vote for it, which we all know that the majority won't vote at all. By their logic, we wouldn't have tournaments, clans or anything else because the "majority" never pushed for these things.
But let us say that the majority vote for public disclosure and the Site Admins state that is now policy. Given the opposition of the present Game Mods do you think that will lead to more or less engine users being kicked? Far less under a regime that is concerned that you can't ever be "100% sure". Thus, the ironic result of public disclosure will be a less effective approach.
In short, the two ideas are linked; we need more Game Mods who can more quickly examine the evidence and come to conclusions based on overwhelming evidence, accepting that no one can be 100% sure of anything. We need public disclosure to deter cheats and to reassure the rest of the community that something is being done. And we need these things done NOW, not kicked down the road for three months or more. 90% voted SIX MONTHS ago for the Game Mod concept; I don't think they voted for one that would be ineffective or secret. We can take votes from now until Doomsday, the results of which are preordained, or we can push for reform NOW. I'm tired of half-assed measures and arguments about whether we should have Game Mods at all or what votes we should take, etc. etc. etc. Either fix the damn thing or don't; I'm starting to not really care either way.

What exactly do you hope for this vote to accomomplish?
From my post in this thread:
"I agree with Mr. Marauder in the fact that the subscribers should be made aware of what action the moderator team has taken to make the site as fair as possible and how they have improved the site for those who care about fair play... If through a forum thread or perhaps a bi-monthly PM to all subscribers, some kind of update should be sent out."
In my eyes, this would be a beneficial accomomplishment and hopefully a vote would show the Admin that this is what most users believe.
