I haven't been here all that long, but I am already somewhat feeling nostalgic about the forum. It seems like we had much more fun back about a year or so ago when I joined. Maybe it's just me, but it feels like the air was let out of the sails somewhat.
Some here blame other players, some blame the mods and or the admins, some blame the rec system changes. But doesn't it just boil down to you and I and what we post? To speak for myself, the last year hasn't been easy for real life stuff. But I have had much tougher times before, and I managed to keep my sense of humor.
Perhaps it is the world around us. I mean as an American, we have troops in foreign lands getting blown to bits with IEDs and getting shot to death, every week they die. Maybe it's the general tone of our times, that certain things don't seem funny like before.
Perhaps this place has changed, and certain forum posters that left, left a huge gapping hole in the posts.
I have no idea how or what, but this place seems to have lost some of it's laughter. I think we can regain it though. Have fun again, smile and laugh more. Don't be so serious.
