Originally posted by darvlayActually I have never broken the frames of my glasses. The last time I broke one of the lenses was many years ago at a conference in Glasgow. If it had been the left one, I would have been in serious trouble - I am quite myopic and would have had trouble making my way through the traffic, and giving my presentation would also have been awkward and unpleasant. Luckily it was the right one, which I don't use much anyway, so I just had the glass properly removed and replaced with a plastic demo lens. I used that for several months, then when it fell out one day, I continued to use the glasses with just one lens for several months. It was interesting to observe the reactions. It took most people quite a while to notice that there was something weird about my glasses.
Nordly's favourite moment of 2007 (tie):
That day she got her glasses repaired and no longer needed scotch tape to hold the frames together.
AND
When she mixed a scoop of regular coffee in with the decaf.
Yuck - coffee? And if I would drink coffee at all, it wouldn't be decaf in the first place.
Weirdest food I had in 2007
Cinnamon noodles with tomato sauce (pretty good). Although maybe I shouldn't speak too early, who knows what kind of weird stuff I might get in Japan.
