I can live with schools and military bases being renamed, and "racist" product labels being expunged. What bothers me is there is a consorted effort in academia to minimize or outright erase uncomfortable parts of our histo ...[text shortened]... en care which side of the political aisle--is a common sense charismatic that can bring us together.

@trev33said I remember it being very simple with a lot of meat, something I can do without. Easy to get a really nice meal, there’s lots of different types of restaurants, especially in the larger cities. Remember a really good burrito in Hanoi, I arrived from Thailand so maybe was just comparing foods unfairly. Don’t think price has much to do with reputation, or at least it shouldn’t, Indian food is the cheapest I’ve seen and there wasn’t much to dislike.
Love Indian food. I remember buying samosa and pakora just being cooked by the street. The only iffy food (this was in the 80s) was train food which was stored too long before the trays were brought round, but if you stepped off at stations there was good food just being cooked on the platforms.
