Russ I was thinking that we should penalize players who timeout in big numbers. It makes it hard to run a clan when some of your players act this way. It also hurts the tournaments.
Now I have taken timeouts before and it is sometimes unavoidable. But you can tell which guys do it to the extreme. I think that they should be banned from clans and certain tournaments. I think that some of these guys are also computer cheaters. Their ratings sky rocket and when they just have too many games or get a bit bored they timeout a bunch of games.
Just a thought and I was wondering what other people think?

Grow up idiot. People agree to time limits, if they break them ITS THIER FAULT. last night I waited up till 5am (when I was tired at 2) just to get a timeout. So dont complain if you get timed out when YOU AGREED TO THAT TIME

Hey, maybe when you are playing in an OTB tournament and your flag falls you should complain to the TD because the other player is bullying you. Of course not. Why on earth should they be banned from tournaments and clans. It would completly defy the point of timeouts and timebanks. If you couldn't time out then games could sit indefinatly because a play ...[text shortened]... t you will have absolutly no support from the rest of the community for your "idea". Sheesh!

Now I can't make up my mind whether to agree or disagree. On the one hand Marcozy is right. There should be someway of preventing this from happening (it has happened to me on a few occasions), but these players pay to play on this site and it is their fundamental right to take as many games as they wish and to play in whatever tournaments or clans they wish. I would assume that clan leaders would be able to look at some players graphs and decide that they cannot be trusted because it has happened before, but I think many are just looking for a high rated player who makes a lot of moves.

But still, letting your games time out is not a crime. It should be left arbitrary to the clan leaders to remove clan members or decline the membership of these players. It should not be left to a third party.
Now, joining banded tournaments while at low rating would be something to penalize. But that has been discussed numerous times.
