I think you have a vaild point there as for Revello's point though i agree alot of people do resign to grand masters if the are drawn against them lets say in a tournament for instance and are a few hundred points below their own rating, if they were getting totally outplayed i agree they proberly would resign.
But then i have outplayed other players ...[text shortened]... I just can not see this happening especially in tournament game you fight till the dont you.🙄
I will also resign a game if I fall back a few pawns or a full piece. It really isn't that hard to figure out.

One pawn doesn't the game make, I'm talking a good 4 pawns or so against a player well over my rating.

Russ I was thinking that we should penalize players who timeout in big numbers. It makes it hard to run a clan when some of your players act this way. It also hurts the tournaments.
Now I have taken timeouts before and it is sometimes unavoidable. But you can tell which guys do it to the extreme. I think that they should be banned from clans and certain t ...[text shortened]... ed they timeout a bunch of games.
Just a thought and I was wondering what other people think?
It is just like playing a 5 minute game and you run out of time then I win.

The first is that the piece may be regained later and even if you can't win you might be able to force a draw.
The second is improvment keep playing your games till mate then you will improve more then just resigning.
Then again do what you want I just think it is best to keep playing but thats my veiw, although I'm sure at a more advanced level resiging is sometimes the right thing to do as the chances of a mistake are much lower.
I understand your point of view and it is a valid one but you can not tell me that some of these top players out of say a hundred games have maybe only had 7 checkmates and guess alot of higher rated players will be entering tournaments and playing much lower rated players at times and your telling me all these lower rated players are going to roll over and resign or if not resign be timed outed rather than try to learn something about where they went wrong and play it out until they get checkmated
I cant believe all those people would resign all the time but then maybe i'm wrong i have an open mind to the subject😳

Plus putting a comma here and there would help reading your posts.
I'm not familiar with the championship games and clan stuff but what if the timer is really long and you keep draggin it out. Wouldn't you get bored especailly if you in a losing position. But ya, 100+ games and only 7 checkmates is Fishy.
However in OTB I can understand that. Because of the audience and plus the respect factor. I wouldn't want people thinking i'm a jerk for carrying out a game after its over because people talk at clubs.
I respect your more interesting reply i have had problems with people dragging out their timeouts. Proberly this is a tactic to try and bore you to submit or resign hay.
I do still think there are some fishy players out their just check out the open games at the moment a minute ago there were 3 players with very low ratings under 1200 and guess what top rating on graph anything from 1400 - 1600 now thats crying out fishy
