...and at least you should have done it for something worth (??),like timing out some 2000+ player, not staying up all night to time out a poor 1207 player........Game 1678510

I should have been more clear in my original post. Yes I was referring to players like Dustin who lose many games because they let them timeout. I suppose my thread title might make it easy to misunderstand as well.

I have no issue with claiming wins due to a timeout. But I think that there should be a greater penalty for this type of thing than just losing the game. While they are paying to play on here so are the rest of us.

There are examples where this type of player will win the first round of a tournament and then timeout the entire second round. It would have been better for the tournament and all those serious about it to have had the second place player from that group advance to the next round instead. Anything that reduces the enjoyment of playing on this site should be dealt with.

I should have known better than to have let Dustin on my team but looking at his graph at any one time might not show the timeouts. He played so many games that it wouldn't show. Then another player joined which had no evidence of this behaviour did the same thing. It isn't fair.

Anyway, I have learned my lesson but I was just making a suggestion to help improve things. I appreciate your thoughts and apologize for causing any confusion earlier.

Who are you to talk? I took a quick look at your graph and saw one big downward spike and one smaller one. A closer look at your games reveals that you timed out on 5 tournament games between December 4th and 6th, and that you timed out on 13 more tournament games, and 4 clan games, between August 6th and 20th. Four clan timeout losses? Is that why The Rotating Stars Clan! no longer requires your services? 18 tournament timeout losses? Maybe you should be banned from any future tournaments along with Dustin. What do you think of that?

I agree that timeout losses are a huge problem for clan leaders and for tournaments. But rather than being part of the solution, it seems that you're part of the problem. Get your own house in order before you come in here and start slagging on other people.

Je ne comprende pas...

why would someone deliberatly time out one of their own games???

Or, in other words, wait with moving until someone timed them out???

Why bother bloody playing chess if all you're going to do is wait to get timed out...unless...

No. Surely not.

Yes. There can only be one explanation...

THEY'VE INFILTRATED A CLAN so another clan will get more points...

Nope. I give up. I'm off to eat Ben & Jerry's Strawberry cheesecake.

i've been timed out and also resigned games due to problems in life.
i never liked my rating going down and felt bad each time coming back.i now have things under more control but often that is out of my hands.for a time i was picking butts of the street, eating mainly potatoes thrown in the fire and moving from the local library.
if you also go through hard times then don't feel too bad when you return.just do your best to keep a soild improving graph as this should also reflect your life outside this room.
Windy!

I can only see two things that can be done.

1) In the profile a number of games lost by timeout row so you can get an idea about a person by looking.

2) Not time them out, and let others to do the same. Make them play it till the end although i know tournaments have an auto feature that does it but if you have such a problem you should wait till that does it and in the meantime track them down with death threats.

[EDIT] Anyone know why this is bold?
