Basically had two rooks vs a queen since black failed to get his rook into play, costly mistake... fun game though.

Some people give up as soon as they're down any piece that isn't a pawn and some never give up... depends on the opponent for me.

I was overjoyed to capture someones queen the other day, then stupidly lost my own in a few more moves. Overconfidence is often my downfall.

Originally posted by RBHILLIndeed. I feel it is the only appropriate time to continue after losing your queen. If you are playing an equal or better opponent and lose your queen but continue to play to the bitter end--in my opinion it is an insult to the other player. You are basically saying you will play to the last move, just in case the guy gets hit by a bus and you can greedily claim your skull.

So, Mrhuma did the right thing, afterall he still had a legitimate fighting chance. But I can't stand it when an equal or lesser player stretches an obvious loss out to the max number of moves.. the motive is obvious.
*edit*
I'm not talking about games where you lose your queen but see a chance at sneaking in a checkmate... those times are rare, but, obviously you should keep playing, again, as long as you have a legitimate fighting chance.

Also, I don't imagine a lot of people resigning 2 points down in a game where they are rated 200 points more than their opponent.
