So much for your assertion that Taxachussetts voters are the most intelligent.😉 The ones with any brains moved to NH to escape the plethora of taxes used to fund the multitude of corrupt gov programs.

Can you say Big Dig?

Oddly enough, I did fall off a ladder last fall and sustained an injury.
I paid cash.

The illusion that everyone should be entitled to millions of dollars of medical costs for treatment of any and all conditions at the expense of those who are healthy is perhaps the real pie-in-the-sky.
obviously you were not paralyzed were you? I'll mark your reply down as obtuse and evasive

as to your second point: its the difference between normative and positive economics. It is my belief that health care is a universal right, not a priveledge.

Only paralyzed for a few moments.
Out of work for 2 weeks.
Point being, I've payed for all my medical bills out of pocket for the past 20 years at a total cost of approx. $23k.

To think that it's a right for everyone to be 'entitled' to millions of dollars of medical treatments is...is...is.... I'm speechless. By what right? By what moral code?

It shall not come to pass in the land of the free.
Witness. At the first chance to express their displeasure with the handling of the current healthcare legisslation, Taxachssetts, Democratic stronghold for decades elected a Republican Senator to replace Teddy K, despite the best efforts of The Messiah. The political pendulum is starting to swing back towards center. Perhaps you should mark that down.😉

So you must be some penniless, smiling chap who's given all his worldly possessions to someone more needy than yourself in the name of this so called moral code you'd have us all live by. No? I thought not. Howzabout you keep your morals to yourself?😉 You sound like some right-wing wacko trying to force me to have a baby!

actually I'm a pro-choice radical progressive socialist. I didn't force my morals on you, I am merely pointing out the tragic flaws inherent in your argument. You were the one who brought up morals.

Do I give my money away? yes and no. I certainly need to support my family, but my wife and I do give a substantial portion of our income, and of our time supporting charitble efforts. I do not begrudge one penny of the taxes we pay (which are considerable considering our income); taxes are the price we pay to live in a civilized society. The majority of or tax dollars goes towards the public good. Fire protection, police, military, highways and roads...bridges, public schools. Money well spent

The tragic flaw is living by a moral code where you propose to be your brother's keeper.

Not for me thanks.

But then again, any person that self-anoints as 'Progressive' must live by those codes in order to rationalize having any property whatsoever.

I never proposed to be anyones keepr, just that taxes are a neccessary part of civilization.

...as for property: I believe everyone should be able to own personal property. but not the means of production

You proposed loving your brother by chipping in for his million dollar health care.

I wouldn't call that a necessary reason for taxes.

you would if you needed a kidney transplant and couldn't afford dialysis...its all a matter of perspective.

I'm quite certain you'll be at the head of the pack crying about how you "deserve" a new liver, or triple bypass, and oh by the way i can't afford to pay for it. Hypocrate much?

Actually, you're wrong again.

I have never asked for a free ride and I never, ever will.
You're thinking of some whiney, self-anointed progressive, who smoked and drank his whole life and lived off the welfare system and now expects you to pay for it because you've funded everything else in his life.😉

Oh, and unlike you Collectivists, I don't travel in or with a pack. LOL

I do not fear my own mortality, I've lived a full life to date.
Anything more is just a bonus.

I'm going to have to let that last spelling error go though it pains me to do so.😞 ....just......can't....do it.... I believe the correct spelling is Hippocreight!
