A friend of mine had a full set done after a serious facial injury. Obviously, his was a long drawn-out affair but they look the part and are functional too apparently. As for pain I think he was anaesthetised and only had minimal discomfort.

No advice, just sympathies.
That sounds exceedingly painful. Hope you get it sorted sans drama and excessive trips to the dentist.

I'm not too fussed about dentist visits. Only ever had two fillings and my wisdom teeth removed.
My last employer, however, suffered with her teeth. I think they were made of glass as she was constantly chipping them, which would then lead to infestation or rot; or her old crowns would fall out.
In the two years that I worked for her, she probably had about 8 (or more - I stopped caring after a while, and to be honest near the end of my employment I got a little sadistic thrill every time she complained she was in pain) visits. Needless to say she loathed dentists.
