Not in order (and probably not my definitive list):
Blade Runner
Mad Max II: The Road Warrior
Mad Max I
Mad Max I: Beyond Thunderdome
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Twelve Monkeys
2001: A Space Odyssey
Monyt Pyhton and the Life of Brian
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Finally, Withnail & I, probably the best.

At first I thought why bother posting my list, but after seeing the wonderful reactions elicited I'm going to do it just to irratate those who like to find other people's lists irratating. In no discernable order, with a series counted as one movie:

The Star Wars series
The Star Trek series
The Lord of the Rings series
Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstien
Big Trouble in little China
Ben Hur
Young Frankenstien
Platoon
The Lion In Winter
Lawrence or Arabia

What I'd like to see is peope coming clean about thier "guilty pleasures" movies. You know the ones that suck or are just plainly b-rated but we still watch them. The ones we watch over and over for no apparent reason.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Armageddon. This is easily one of the greatest films of all time.

Armageddon was true cinema. When Ben Affleck sang "Leavin' on a Jet Plane" to Liv Tyler before going off to save the world from the meteor, and then later when Liv Tyler had to say goodbye to Bruce Willis as he was about to blow up that same meteor with the nuclear bomb...OMG, I get choked up just thinking about it...:'(
Why can't Bruce Willis be our President? He'd win the War on Terror in like 90 minutes, just like he beat those European Terrorists who tried to take over the Nakatomi building. I think that when things get tough, we ought to take a moment and ask ourselves, WWBWD?

1. Dune
2. Dr Strangelove
3. The Shining
4. Alien (just the first one)
5. The Big Blue
6. Yojimbo
7. The Cell (Just for cinematography. The acting and script is s*$@ and J Lo sucks the sweat off a dead man's balls)
8. 2001
9. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
10. Blader Rnner

I'd also like to add that The Shawshank Redemption (a popular choice it seems) is without a doubt the most over-rated film I have ever seen. I agree it is a well made film and certainly not a waste of my money, but for some polls to say it is the bes tfilm ever made is frankly laughable.

ninotchka ( with greta garbo ) and my man godfrey ( with david nivens ) are two of my "old" favorites. for chess players, the Thomas Crown Affair with Steve McQueen, should be a favorite too.
