no1, I have seen pretty much every "classic" American film there is, and I can say that I really enjoyed Casablanca but that it's not one of my personal favorites. If I had to list the top ten most IMPORTANT films of all-time, it would be in the top 5 for god sakes, but just cause none of us are choosing the "safe answers" doesn't mean we're unsophisticated. (Ya jerk! 😉)

You are a semi-literate peasant who will soon sink back to the depths of the 1500's where you belong! Two people got Something About Mary in their top ten films of all time; how freakin unsophisticated ya want? Ernest Scared Stupid, Mannequin 2 (there actually was one; [shudder]) Weekend at Bernie's?🙄

Well you can't say There's Something About Mary isn't at least a funny movie. Lower your standards a little now and then! 😛 You'll probably never know the joys of a good Monty Python flick, will ya, jerk? 😀

Why you pretentious upstart; I was watching the Flying Circus on TV long before you were even hatched! You want comedy: Try Duck Soup and more recently Airplane!; those are comedies! I don't lower my standards; but then somebody who'd join Metallica without a loaded bazooka aimed at their head wouldn't understand anything about standards!

PS How about Clerks, ya bunch of coarse peons!

Ahhh The good ol' Marx brothers, yes Duck Soup is definitely good, but I'm talking about movies from the 90s and the mostly-very-disappointing 2000s. As far as 90s comedies go, There's Something About Mary had many very big laugh-out-loud moments, some that don't work after seeing the movie a couple times but still enough to make it watchable. You can't live in the past forever, try thinking more freely, you over-rated over-the-hill overly-egotistical chess addict!

(Btw, best comedy ever: Some Like It Hot! Owww Monroe!)

You know, it's funny, i've come to appreciate your posts because now I just picture you as this old fart pirate barking out these hilarious sentences and i anger no more. Could you do me a favour and throw some Arrrrgghhhhgh!'s into the middle of your rants once in a while, for me?

But seriously, Airplane! is funny. damn funny.

Only one Italian film (Cinema Paradiso is a personal favourite) and one vote for the excellent City of God.
No French films, no Spanish, nothing with Gong Li, no Kurusawa, just a couple of English films. There havs been one or two quite good Australian films and has no one seen 'A time for drunken horses' or Kieslowski's Three Colours trilogy?
'Lilya Forever' wasn't much fun, quite bleak in fact, but it is well worth watching.
Spread your wings ..........
